Unless half the fleet are gone it wont be back .CIE and Irish Rail are trading insolvent .The money will flow into public transport more busses more frequent Luas and Dart .Greens pumping coin into rent a bike and scooter .We still dont know if working from home will become a regular thing .My personal view a lot of renters will give up .The cost of rental and with so much work being handled from Free Now if you take all the costs into account you would need to be doing at least 800 a week  to take home minimum wage .As soon as Free Now realise how desperate lads are for work the freight will go up .Im looking at something else .

Occi the Greens and now the rest are Greenwashing everything .I recon 24 hour bus service will be introduced with id cards and pay by card to identify who is on board and reduce hassle .The big issue will be traffic congestion as the Bike lanes reduce roadspace by 33% .If the Greens get their way most of the City center will be a no go area .Its a fucking joke one trick ponies The future is in Sandal and Yogurt sales .

Celebration of life to make up for the lack of a good send-off should generate a few shekels. I'm with Octy, too many retards and drunken spastics around unwilling to mask up thinking they're great and complain when you ask them politely first, then violently next to behave.

I was in Aldi earlier and there are retards walking around unmasked. If you add in staff who just have the mask over their mouth...well! and that about sums up the current customer base.

A rising tide floats all boats as the cliche goes. Pity the likes of Ermy won't cast off from his moorings.

Are they still running the 24hr bus routes?.....there can't be anyone on them...and as Octy says...there were always heavily subsidised.

There could be a silver lining in this for us.

1. Buses are relatively expensive these days.  I think it's approx €3 each way.  So someone could be paying €30/week to get into work.  If working from home takes off and people are still afraid of the virus, they (esp women) might spend that €30 on taxis to get into the office 2 or 3 days a week instead of a filthy infected bus?

2.  If Dublin Bus runs out of money, they might have to cut route frequency.  So instead of a bus every 15 minutes, it might be every 30 minutes.  Might push people to get taxis out of boredom?

Dublin City Center will be a Green Maze with one way and pedestrian streets .If they block Dame street and College Green late at night it will be carnage .The North Quays 33% is given over to bike lanes .That will piss us off but it will also piss the punters off .Sheila from the flats is after getting picked up in Pygmalion and Franko wants to get her back to his gaff in Marino ,good luck keeping her interested on that taxi journey .You manage to get a taxi at the back of the Green Center now with Merrion Row blocked its up Camden street and try to get across the river at the ferryman with a solid line of taxies all going your way and a Garda on a scooter waiting @ the 5 lamps to get you if you do a bogey right .The biggest fuckup for us will be the punters wont bother coming into a gridlocked City Center they will stay local or stay home .

Who mentioned Dublin Bus ?It will be privatised with less terms and conditions for workers .The most expensive part of running a bus service is the investment in the Bus .Planes and ships dont park up overnight neighter do trucks .Old out dated work practices .Look at the Spar on the corner of Dame Street ,Georges Street it dosent have a front door as it is never closed .Dont be surprised to see the likes of Tesco in Ballyfermot closing as the Big shop in Liffey valley is under utalized and people are now use to home deliveries .

I think when the pubs reopen we will have a boom few months but then people will look at prices .4 glasses of wine costing 24 euro with a bottle to drink at home for 7 and 6 pints costing 30 notes throw in a taxi thats 70 notes but when you had the same gargle at home it cost 15 euro from Aldi,Lidil ,Tesco ,Spar,Supervalue and you dont have to listen to everybody's pandemic stories .There could be a huge shift from people with their socializing .Lads our age like the pub but im not sure the Cocaine Generation give a fuck we also like fine dining again Pizza delivered by a chimp on a bike is prefered by younger people .

You did... about 12 hours ago! (CIE = Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann & Irish Rail)

Re the pubs.  I can still see people going to the pubs, even if it's just to get out of the house.  Not everyone has a house has nice as yours (  :P ) and it will have felt like a jail cell for the past 14 months.  People will pay anything to get out for a few hours.

It's like the cinema.  Who goes for the movie?  It's, what, €70 or €80 for a family to go to the cinema nowadays.  if it shuts the kids up for an hour or two, parents are happy to pay it.

All the teachers, an guards, an nurses, an doctors an civil servants are up at least 20 grand in savings whilst the self employed entrepreneurs are down 20 grand in savings.......
Wenne the lockdown is lifted the civil servants be out thrown Ther money away like confetti just to empower themselves again an get out an about in the pubs an restaurant...... Weel bé lookin at a boom in business for Cople weeks.... Then they'll all go back to the late late show an bottle's of lidls plonk, doritos an garlic dip.... An a bit of hows yer father at home......
Most of the nation have no  need or desire to go near a pub again........ They learned how to drink twice as much at home in Ther pyjamas for a fifth of the price.......
These also bein trained to do Ther shopping online so no taxi
Trips from brown Thomas anymore.... Ther Also bein told by Ther international employers that it cost a fraction for them to work at home cause Ther providing Ther own lighting, heating  an WiFi an the company doesn't need to rent that skyscraper anymore at 2 million a week..... The cost of air travel will go beyond the range of the masses for environmental reasons an for them recoop Ther loses temporarily
........ Ón top of  That freenow scooters on the way, an yu can buy a scooter that'll bring yu into work in half the time of a taxi,... the green party closing the access to the city and forcing everyone use an scooter or bicycle..... Its already apparent that the only work you'll get is drug dealers at 2 in the morning or bringing 20 sumtin home pissed as a fast, puking, shitein in yur car an given yu grief an stress......
.... The Word " Bolloxed" comes to mind
