Just have to wait and see .I thought we were in a week arrears but I didnt get coin .
I have no idea of how they work it John M, I looked at all the Gov guidelines and thought that I might get paid the week after, but never expected to be paid the week after again !

Either way they are gonna want a good share of it back as it is taxable income, de B@stards !

They will want their 'Pound of Flesh', it might not be this year or even next year, but they will get it !

I was talking to my mechanic yesterday, he thought he was on the 'Pigs back' taking 5 weeks off in March/April 2020 while on the PUP, till he got his tax bill a few weeks ago fer last year !

I got my tax bill in the door last week.  My liability for 2020 is a big fat fcuking zero. Not a fooking penny. Nothing, Nada, niks, nought. So if the pup is taxable income they don't want nutin back off me. I'd imagine next year will be the same as I've been on the pup for all of 2021 so far.

I'm no tax expert, the Rat is really the man to be talking to about that, but maybe expect a few unwelcome surprises from Mr Taxman next year ??

I had only me Covid and two Grand earnings for the weeks before lockdown .I had reduced Costs ,ie fuel insurance but did have car payments and my tax bill was over 600 with no PRSI .I was never on the top covid coin .

So let me get this straight.....you did a self assessment tax return and Revenue said you owe them nothing?

I stopped working my joe on March 14th 2020,claimed the PUP until Sept 22nd and was in a PAYE job until end of Dec....i still had a liability of €1520 which i've warehoused interest free until Dec 31st 2022.

That's about the size of it yea. There's two things you need in this life hal, a forgiving doctor and a clever accountant.

I should add I'm assessed with the missus as a married couple and she's not working.  I also paid just under 18000 for a car in November. I gave all this to my accountant and the number I owe came up to nil!

Clever accounting is for those who have money, you had car payments so that would help reduce liability alright but with no fuel or repair bills or much else taxi related to claim other than your allowances and any PUP you did receive was still subject to tax at the relevant rate.....or am i missing something?

Everyone can use a clever accountant hal. My chap costs 250 for a return. Over the years I've had mates say 250? You're being robbed. Mines only 100. Really, I say. As they pay 1500, 1600, 2000 a year. Mine always comes in under a grand. Always.
