Indeedin they do Marky.....from Feb of this year.....as if it wasn't bad enough being on a reduced income...PUP....they decided to reduced our tax credits( me and me beuriful wife are jointly assessed) and as i mention on a different thread...her salary was also reduced to the tune of about €130 per month.....but being the chivalrous man that i am when i started back in a real job in Sept i rang the tax office and she got a refund of about €900 but i was on a reduced salary from then until year end...except i'm no longer employed.....i could have left it with no refund for herself and my salary would have been normal....in hindsight i should have left it that way for payment for putting up with her for the last 26 yrs!!

WILL WE BE BACK ON THE COVID OR DOLE ......Covid cases are over 4,000 a day, but Nphet is not minded to reimpose restrictions, the Tánaiste has told a Fine Gael parliamentary party meeting.

Leo Varadkar said a backlog in cases is keeping the announced figures down, but the true figure is now over 4,000. However, he said that reimposing restrictions, while not being ruled out, is not on the agenda.

The situation has "taken a turn for the worse" in terms of cases, he said, but the spike in hospitalisations is largely down to people being diagnosed with the virus in hospital.

Mr Varadkar said the use of antigen testing could be done in tandem with a move to widespread use of FFP2 masks instead of cloth or surgical masks.

He said the booster programme in Israel has been "an enormous success". Mr Varadkar also told the meeting both the issues of Covid and Brexit "have not gone away".

I didn't Marky.....i left of my own accord,had a verbal with the little guttersnipe who started a week after me,he was working in the warehouse,the guy who interviewed me who actually set up this part of the biz actually left himself a few weeks back,he's from a well known furniture family and not short of a few bob,we've kept in touch and he has a new venture and we spoke yesterday about me joining that biz in a couple of weeks but i'm getting the taxi sorted so i won't be beholden to no one.....well except the NTA!!

Dr Hooligan says its Fucking desperate out there Dr Leo says they are covering up the real figure of 4000 cases a day. Dr Hooligan says work from home the fella in charge of Doctors who isint a doctor perscribes dont go to nightclubs three times a week .So government OFFICIAL policy is stay and work from home and dont go clubbing .How are we supposed to earn a living .Hal you might be better off parking up and going on the Dole .Nobody in Government seems to know what the fuck they want .Can we still suspend our taxi insurance if we go back into some sort of restrictions ?

 Seriously Hal you say you have a tax bill already for this year now add in insurance costs and 20% more tax on future earnings plus fuel and My Taxi ransom .Minus 203 on the dole .You would need to earn a fair amount to show a profit .If your license is already suspended that might satisfy the dole you are no longer in self employment plus you have been a PAYE worker up till last week .Might be worth applying for the Dole first and see if they will give it to you .You can always return to the Taxi if they dont .
