NCT test

To clean or not to clean .I usually power wash the car including underneath when I go for the NCT my thinking it shows a bit of respect to the person having to inspect it ,but Big Dommo recons if you clean it they can get a better look and find more faults like worn rubbers or boots ? So what do you recommend clean it or leave it ? Upside of a good clean for the NCT is its done for the Suitability a few days later !

I did I failed balljoint if it was cared in muck he probably would not of seen it .and numberplate bulb ?

It's been asked of me that I clean underneath but I never do.My old heap has been through at least 20 times.Usually passes.Every test they give me an advisory on something then it never gets mentioned again in subsequent tests even though I haven't fixed anything.

Last test they failed me on a front parking bulb.So I just took the bulb off the back and used that one and called him back out.Passed no problems.

Ball joint replacement get tracking done and two bulbs change out of 150 all good .Its the Emissions that use to kill me on Satins Wheelbarrow .Emissions is a bit like engine cancer the Spanner Jockie will do stuff then more stuff untill you run out of money to give him .

I met a bloke I used to know from the ranks who ditched his Fluence after two clutch failures in less than a month.
I'm sure ya got a bargain but in the long term you end up paying through the mechanic.Try a Toyota next time.If they're good enough for the Taliban they're good enough for us.

If I had Major costs I think I might give it up rent the plate and go PAYE .Fuel costs went up twice yesterday in the Old Phoenix Garage in Ballyer .They put it up after 8AM  they have a night time fuel rate to try get the taxis and van drivers in to buy sweets and sambos and Club Orange thats where the big profits are .

If you insist on exotic French cars maybe stay away from the diesels next time.I doubt any of yis(except maybe RC) are getting the claimed MPG from the diesels.They're not meant for city driving.

If I go again it will be part worn Hybrid your right about Diesels not really suitable for city driving .Hard on the Clutch .The Battery cars are to New to commit to owning until we see a few 5 or 6 year old ones still working .

Be down the lane in Walkinstown on Wednesday . If the brake light was working .was working yesterday probably got water into it when it was power washed he might of let it go but one they find one fault another is just an add on makes marginal decisions easier .

I know country runs are very few and far between but country runs are definitely out when you drive a hybrid. Can't keep petrol in the tank.
