As I understand it, if you change your payment preferences, it will take effect the following week.  So if you want to go back to the old way of getting the money into your bank account every Wed, choose that option and it will/should happen NEXT week.  Don't know about this week though.  I guess we'll find out on Wed!

Such idiots, could they not just leave things as they were?.Will have to leave them now. Got the stupid card I didn't ask for. Took a good few payments over the weekend on sumup, will they not go to my usual bank account now?

From the sumup email;
"you can edit your payout settings in the SumUp app at any time."
"From 19.10.2022, you’ll receive your payouts in your new account".

So if we dont want the card, do we have to find a new company to deal with card payments or what?
it says there isn't any charges on the card. is it best to stay or what is going on?
I'm no expert at this but the email states that if you do nothing they set it all up fer you, and seemingly there are no fees ??
As your IN now prob best to stick it out ??

I read the email, heard what the Balbriggan Boffin suggested on here and opted out.

You opted out, does that mean you will still use sumup and it goes into your usually account or does that mean you wont be using sumup anymore?

Go into the app and go to live talk or message .Send them a note that you do not want their Business account ,Do not click on it or activate the card .Tell them you want them to leave your old settings .

Dear john,

Thank you for contacting SumUp Support.

Following your request to close the SumUp Business Account, we would like to inform you that this is a free option. Indeed, the closure of the Business Account is final, and if you wish to use it in the future, you will have to create a new SumUp profile.

This option now allows you to send and receive bank transfers from external bank accounts within the EU. Please note that international bank transfers are currently not supported.

Although you have a Business Account on your profile, you are not required to use it and can receive your payments from your external bank account.

If after reading this information you still want us to close your Business Account, please confirm this in response to this message.

If you've any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,

Look at the fuckology I told them I dont want their Business account they confirm I told them but still want me to tell them to fuck off with another E Mail .

My sumup payments after opting out means that I stay the same as before using the sumup reader and usual payments.

I was talking to the sumup crowd on web chat last night, told them i didnt want the card. they told me they would sort it out.

I checked my sales from the weekend and it says they have paid out but they aren't showing in my bank account when i check online, is that normal?

My sumup money usually doesn't turn up until Wed morning so maybe wait a day?  Otherwise it might be on "your" sumup mastercard debit card?

That whole thing is starting to annoy me now.  I didn't opt-out because I didn't see the opt-out bit on page 3 of the email (see above).  So, instead I changed my preferences to keep getting paid into my bank account like normal (and I'd throw the card in the cupboard).  But it looks like SumUp have now also changed that option without telling me and I will be getting paid via the card.  Which I haven't gotten in any event!

Maybe I'll switch over to stripe or whatever the other one is called  >:(

Here is an Issue to consider .My banking is with my bank I put all my finances through that and that is where my credit rating comes from .You will fuck up your credit rating if you have to many cards .I dont even use my bank for paddy power .Why would you want to change your bank ?This crowd are trying to bully you into taking their card .The service we signed up for is card payments not Banking services .

And it's free for now but how long before they start charging commission 'for a new & improved service just for you'?  We've seen all the other apps do it  ::fds

And will you have to start uploading your passport etc to prove who you are like you would with a bank/CU account in Ireland?
