That has been posted on the NTA website and on NTA emails fer a long time.
If'n you were stoopid enough to disregard the notices then I'm sure there is plenty of appeal options, even to the European court of Justice !

I can confirm both Nct and suitability still done in Greenhills. Someone asked about this in a previous post.

But seemingly Not both done in the same building ??

NCT done inside,Suitabilty done outside, same building.

If your seats are stained in any way or your bumpers are scuffed YOU WILL FAIL suitability .Logic of stained seats is Passengers on night out do not want their clothing ruined by dirty seats .Which is fair but scuffed Bumpers on a work vehicle decided by somebody with no Coachpainting Qualification ?I was in this morning and NO vehicle passed while I was there including my own .To be fair it could of done with a hoover but as I was working last night as requested to by passengers it was going to be job worn this morning .

Erm there's a tester from Greenhills that told me he specifically fails taxis if the car hasn't been cleaned. That was about 5 years ago.He thought it was fairly disrespectful considering the vehicle is supposed to be cleaned to a valet level for testing.

About the scuffs the only time mine were noticed was when I forgot to put some back to black on them. The funny thing is there is a shit load of rust on mine he didn't even notice.

Ya have to remember the testers are getting a lot of brand new motors coming in so any of us in older vehicles will stand out a bit more.

If you have Fabric seatcovers you can Scotchguard them or use Punch Shoe Care to make them waterproof and avoid staining .I have a different Product I bought this morning but have not yet used Fabsil you can get it in Screwfix two x 400ml cans will do full car seats and door cards .

Just resealed me Cloth seats .Would recommend this makes them waterproof gives you a few minutes to wipe them stops them getting stained   https://www.screwfix.ie/p/fabsil-universal-protector-water-repellent-spray-400ml/25815?tc=CI4&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnMWkBhDLARIsAHBOftofuKnkpNcwqOL7vUWjnziG2jug79

TBF John M the rules are pretty basic and we all know them inside out, not passing suitability is either Stoopidity, Laziness, or taking a chance it will pass.

You can buy some custom colour scuff paint from an auto paint dealer fer about a Tenner a pot (with brush). I have a small pot at home which thankfully has never been used yet, bought from Taylor auto paints in Cork, I rang them and gave them the car details and they had the pot almost ready when I got there, I'm sure ye have the same service somewhere in Dooblin.

I woke late at 8am fer me last Suitability test a few weeks ago, the test was in 30 minutes time at 8.30am.

Outta the pit and made myself respectable within 10 minutes and out the door with nothing at all done or checked in the cab.
Not knowing how bad the morning traffic might be over to the test centre, I drove on thankfully making it with 8 minutes to spare.
I pulled in at some lorry lay-by 200 meters before the test centre because the car was well 'Job worn' from a few previous night's work.
I set about it with me tools from the boot, taking out the floor mats and scrubbing them off and brushing all the dirt in to the middle where it would be hidden by the mats when replaced.
Next was the Dettol surface cleaner to whatever badly needed wiping down and all wiped off with wet wipes.
All done and arrived at test centre 3 minutes early and made myself known to the staff.

I still hadn't tackled the boot cos there was stuff in there that I didn't want anyone AT ALL to ever see !
Firstly, I pulled out me Top old First aid kit (most if not all out-of-date) and hid that, then I pulled out me nua 'Hal' sealed First aid kit from it's clean bag fer annual display, and put all the other bits and pieces on display too, thankfully the 12-year-old fire extinguisher was still in the Green, and then I hid what was not to be seen under newspapers and covers.

Quietly confident I sparked up a Johnnie blue outside watching as it passed easily...... PHEW !!
