« on: October 19, 2023, 11:22:33 am »
What a piece of Crap .Dropped off our kid this morning took an age to get down the Quays to Trinity .Sat on the Rank outside trinity got a job to Sir John Rogerson quay 19 euro .Held up for 9 minutes at lights to turn left on to Fleet Street by the Luas .5  of them came togeather and had right of way through the Lights .Then when they got to O Connell Bridge the tail end of one blocked the outbound lane of the Quays and as one moved off the bridge the next one blocked the way and the same on the North Side .This thing causes more traffic congestion in the City than a Nuclear Explosion .Came up the Quays heading for the Aston same shite took 9 light changes to get from the Mew bridge 150 yards up the river to the Aston an 5 occasions the traffic never moved as the Luas or a heard of Busses blocked the way .Those yello boxes do not seem to apply to Dublin Bus or Luas .

I would never be in City Center at that time of 5 in the evening .It was total gridlock .Busses in the Yellow Box at Doyles on College Green only needs one copper  to sort it out .

Don't the motorcycle jockeys work days? They could be easily dispatched. But they probably have to be called by the Corpo who run traffic management [ allegedly], but they probably were on a break.

Without a doubt at rush hour the Daniel Day inconveniences more people than it helps out,I've often seen that O'Connell St one with fookall people on it with the streets in gridlock.

Whoever is in charge of scheduling in Dublin Bus needs sacking...but that's half the problem, rise through the ranks with not a clue....I counted 20 buses travelling through D'Olier St/College St corridor on numerous mornings...absolutely ridiculous...gridlock...and then the Luas for good measure, blocking Townsend St as you turn from D'Olier St and add in too fukin old to be driving taxi drivers who only seem to move when the pacemaker kicks in.

Yeah, the amount of Dublin Buses going that way can be spectacular.  At approx 9am most mornings, Mon-Fri, they all back up onto O'Connell St bridge and it's quite the sight!

I have some sympathy for them though and I think the blame lies more with DCC and how they manage the traffic lights.  I try to stick to the suburbs but for the past week, I'd had the (mis)fortune of getting a few into the city centre and then a few in the city centre.  The lights are set up so you're just driving from red light to red light.  Drove a girl (street hail) from Croppies Acre (Wolfe Tone Quay) to Claredon St and it was €12.  The only green light we got was at Pen's Corner...  Think it was 9 red lights and 1 green over 2.7km!

Must be soul-destroying being a bus driver doing a 8 or 10 hours shift driving around in circles from red light to red light and nobody to talk to.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Try doing a Driving test around Finglas/Ballymun/Glasnevin at 2.30 Pm with the Mammy Mafia picking up kids from school or the Kiddy Zoo .
