...I'm not too fond of Mirror meters, but as time is short on my Hale (as posted), I'm booked in tomorrow fer a nua Mirror meter, €620 with new program, not sure what type but defo it's not a Semitron as my grumpy installer does not do them.
Probably: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Alberen-Itaksi-M12-10532812.html
Thanks fer that SB as me nua Alberen has no user manual.  ::cheers

I just leave me little door open merch and the metre works fine. If they want a receipt I just close the printer door. I get about a year out of a receipt roll.
What's that meter and printer called Horse ?

Most likely my '07' Hale will go out of use in 2027 and I will prob want your type then.
Shite sick of Fookin receipts everywhere.

It's a semitron Ken. I had a hale before.  Poxy yolk. Wouldn't work without paper in the roll. Was also very fussy and had to be a particular exact one. I was flying through the receipt
rolls like nobody's business. Poxy things all stuffed in my door and getting wrapped around me feet if I forgot to rip it off. Now I just pop me little door down when I need a receipt and pop it back open when it's done. Like I said, I get about a year out of a roll.
Is that a mirror meter Horse ?
Yea Ken. The one with the red digits rather than the blue.
Thanks fer that Horse, I bought a nua Alberen meter + printer today and the lift cover thing to Not print is the same as your Semi-on.

Good on you Ken. You'll save loads of rolls now.

There must be a way for the printer to know if it has a roll inserted if it's able to stop you closing the fare off.Feel around Hal to see if it has any electronics or moving bits around where the roll sits. The thing on mine is only 3 millimeters wide.I doubt the tech varies a lot in different brands.

I'd say that would become a pain after a while Hal pulling the tape off and then putting it back on fer every 20th customer that requires a receipt.

Once the tape is on it's permanent. When the customer requires a receipt you just open the door and pull the paper through and close it to print. It takes me about two seconds to install the paper when needed.

It works without rewiring anything...just a tiny bit of tape.Passes suitability as long as the roll is in for the test.

I did post this on another thread but got my meter updated today in Robinsons,Charlie was telling me that when the new tariff kicks in the meter will work when the current till roll finishes...we'll see!!

That's great news Hal.The regulations were likely misinterpreted by the installers to sell printer rolls.Offering  a receipt and being able to print a recipt should always have been good enough. The meters can be programmed to do whatever is required.Since I started driving the cost of rolls has doubled so it's a bit of a scam IMO.

I dunno what if anything will change on the Semitron but I'll be ready with the tape is just in case.

It's not penny pinching Octy it's about getting rid of inefficiency.

I don't like have to deal with any of the installers once they've put the meter in.It's a ball ache running out of paper and having to find more.Me car was full of used paper.Door pockets, glove box in me jeans pockets fukking everywhere.Around me neck like a tie..

The money saving is just an unexpected benefit.
