Even better Panel. They're gonna be very disappointed when they see my mileage.
Interesting. Imagine the drivers who commute to Dublin from say, Wexford! And believe me, they do. You can't get a cab down there for love or money.

Just re on this when you go for your LRA the applus worker retains the receipt printout, upon which you’ll a find a receipt number that’s in sequence every time you print a receipt.

Would’nt be outside the realms of possibility’s for them to compare it against the last years printout to see how many jobs you’ve done in the space of a year.

They know we're peasants. The mileage is near enough, plus approximately 20% for personal /leisure use IIRC. RC might know better.

With all the info from apps to Revenue, t/o and number of jobs for so many drivers, it's easy for them to work out the average price per job. if you don't want to be honest in your taxes, you don't want to use apps too much.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Just off the phone to mechanic 24, €400 for the trade in albrean meter and €150 for the update. Cunts.

Yeah the 4 ton is on top of the €150. Asked if he had a MCT06 (priced at €250 on his website https://www.psv.ie/taxi-meter-installers/ ) and was told he has and it's the same price - i.e. €550, that's 3 ton dearer than advertised - as the mirror meter and printer. The mirror one is probably the cheapest on the market but - depending on grants, etc - my next car could be another brand new car that I really wouldn't want to let them at so I'll just get my ton and a half back for the time being and shop around, I guess.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

On my soon to be defunct Hale MCT5 the receipt number only increments when it prints a receipt i.e. when I have the printer switched on so I'd be surprised if mine went up by many!

I paid €620 for the  Turkish Alberen, including the meter and installation. I also got three receipt rolls. There was no trade-in on the HALE Microtax has he said he'd an abundance of of old ones.

So €550 represents a €70 discount.

Did they cause much damage installing yours?

Have you found any way of disabling the printer?

My roof sign was damaged, but they did a good repair job, saving approximately €150 on a new one.

I see the retail price has come down.

The mirror meter is a very tight fit, rendering its mobility to virtually zilch.

Regarding the printer, I wouldn't even know where to start.

I did very slightly better than you today SB, I was quoted €620 yesterday fer me nua Alberan installation today (with new fare pre-programmed), but I pulled out €600 in cash and he grabbed it, + 10 complimentary Alberan receipt rolls.
No trade in on the old Hale 5+ or John m's old Taxitronic.

Having got my meter programmed on Wednesday and made an appointment for sealing I got this by SMS from Mechanic 24 this morning: .....

......The simplest way to identify a MCT-05+ is to have a look at the taximeter's e1-certification mark, which clearly shows "MCT-05+" (see attached pic). This label was usually placed on the back of the taximeter. (The MCT-05+ will operate normally until 31st December 2025) ......

Kind Regards,
Mechanic24hr.ie
Thanks fer putting this up Stephen, between yourself and Panel ye saved me some dosh and a lot more appointsments fer new meter + another reseal in a years time + I now don't need to que fer reprogramming the old Hale this Thursday.

......On a Sad but Bright note, I can claim 20% of it back in Tax credits.

What do you mean you can claim 20% back in tax credits?....on a €620 mirror nua?
Yes. It's an expense and it takes €620 of your total earnings meaning that you have €620 less to pay tax @ 20% on.
