So far, so good. One side done, no noticeable difference in ride height from one side to the other after a short drive, albeit with relatively few ramps, and handling is fine. I'll take a chance and order the auxiliary bits for the other side later with a view to doing it next weekend and I'll actually work evenings this weekend to make up for the time I've lost. I can't do tonight 'cos there's darts on telly and there's not much chance of my latest 06:00 start time plan being implemented tomorrow 'cos there's darts on telly tonight! Hopefully, it'll behave when I get onto my ramp infested circuit up above in Dublin!
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Not such good news as far as my plan to work the weekend was concerned, Octy. I forgot it was Superbowl Sunday. Anyway, I done a few hours Friday and a couple of hours Saturday with no issues. I'm sorry I bought a pair of springs now, one would have done... but now I have the other one my OCD won't let me not fit it... although I haven't ordered the auxiliary bits yet. I forgot I want to check my DPF differential pressure sensor first just to make sure I don't need one of them... so I won't be doing the second spring this weekend... maybe I'll work to make up for Superbowl Sunday. Needless to say the 06:00 start couldn't happen this week, I was probably still over the drink-drive limit at 06:00. Maybe next week!

From a financial perspective taking in money - even if it's less than €50/hour - is a better outcome than spending money!

Can't say I've noticed any handling issues but I am mindful of VAGs being inclined to break them in pairs. On both the Fabia and the MKI Octavia I discovered both springs broken when I replaced them despite only one being obvious in both cases. They managed to hide themselves by leaning against the inner wing out of sight. I never had an issue with them on the MKII but I changed them with the shock absorbers - presumably on account of an NCT fail 'cos I had time to get Andy to do the fitting.

I'd be damn sure both sides wouldn't have been done if I left it in to an immigrant... and equally as sure that I woulda been charged for two!

In fact, I remember getting Collin to do the tracking on the MKII after Andy put the bits and pieces on. I think it got a wishbone as well... but the reason I remember getting the tracking done is that it's the only time I've ever seen 0.00 imbalance on a NCTS test report. Say what you like about queuing for tyres or punctures around at Collin's place but if it's quality you want he's your only man. I wouldn't get a car tracked anywhere else regardless of how long the queue might be! Although, come to think of it, that's probably the only time I've ever got any car tracked. The NCTS test limits are very forgiving so I'm not sure what made me do it on that occasion other than Andy specifying it being necessary.
