I kinda agree with John M. Subscriptions are not appealing unless you're full time. The sad thing is many of us aren't for various reasons.Full coverage is possible if the lads aren't paying while the app is offering nothing.

I dunno how or if the coop can facilitate pay per job but it's essential to getting the success of the other apps.

How many drivers have they actually got using the app in dublin, I know they said they had something like 1500 at one point but a lot of them could be lads like me who have downloaded the app but havent signed up as members yet.

Occi Big Dommo Got a Pushbike off the Butcher beside the Chipper when he closed because the Supermarket up the road had a Meat Counter .We use to call Eileen Buckley meat Counter next time were out drinking I will tell you why .Anyway back to the other Bike the one Big Dommo rode .The bottom of the Front Forks were painted white and the Rear bracket was also painted white .So he called the Bike the Minstrel after the 1977 Derby winner who had four white socks .Yeh the Dog was called Plato not after the Greek Philosopher just because he use to lick the dinner plates after the kids got fed .Nothing went to waste in Big Dommos Gaff .His Ma told him there were kids in Africa Starving any time he left food on his plate so he taught Plato to eat the leftovers .

You shud be writin for a livin johnny .... modern day strumpet city sort o ting ....  lol

Merch you get one chance to launch .Think it was a Jewish Mother told her Son Albert doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result gathers no moss or something like that .This app followed other failed effords but it was selling a Tricolour not work not a Solution to an Issue .They didnt even understand the Issue like I said I have above average Intelligence so saw the issue .PASSENGERS do not want to WAIT ,THEY WANT Service .THEY DO NOT WANT TO OVERPAY .booking fees digital fees .Ronseal have a great slogan DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE CAN ! Simple .So Problem was PASSENGER needs NOT Driver NEEDS .So what they Shilled was this App is not UBER or FREE NOW  Drivers Cheered but that was a solution to a different Problem .The Problem was Passengers wanted a service ,Solve that Problem you win .Im down the Flats with an Old Mate of Mine Big Dommo he loves an arguement .One Night we are sitting on the Stairs with a Block of Calvita Cheese and a few cans of Lidil Cider .I say to him ." Dommo you are a very clever man but can I say something to you ? You spend so much of your time winning or trying to win battles but you never win any Wars .You need to Focus on the destination not the road you travel " The idea was to win back OUR Customers we lost them originally because we didnt move with the times lads even objected to taking cards when that was what the customers wanted . THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST ,LAST ,and ALWAYS . Build it and they will come .If we provided the best Service we could win back customers .Excluding drivers with a 350 entrance fee made this effort a non runner .Idea was good app run by drivers for drivers implimentation was not worthy of a secontry School entry to the Young Scientists .

Anyone hazard a guess for the sweet spot target number of TaT drivers in Dublin, so that customer service was  good? Clearly it would depend on amount of work availabe, but I think that if it got to 3000 drivers it would have critical mass, but then again that would only be about 20% of the total number of drivers in Dublin.
..

Egg before Chicken before Egg before Chicken WHERE IS THE WORK ? You are looking at this all wrong  First get the Work then Sell the App .Unfortunately Im Over Educated and above average Intelligence that is my Burden .Now I will tell you what I would of done and How .I would of Recruited All Drivers FREE no Sign Up costs no Freight .Give every driver Access to the App FREE .Get them to recruit Fares  Get them to pony up a few notes to Advertise on their cars Decals for sale for the Price on Producing Them .QR codes in car to download the Passenger App .Encourage passengers to do it .

Now we have the Passengers and the Cars no waiting for a Taxi if every taxi is signed up and why not its FREE .Then after about 3 months setting Seeds .Drivers who want to remain pay to join anybody not interested gets Disconnected from the App .If people really believed in this they could of got Investors to cover the initial build out offered then small equity in return for investment .You wont sell an app if you dont have the Fares .Cart before the Horse .Halo did it with 4% initial offering in London .

Think what would of been needed a working App .Register on Line A passenger App register on line and every driver with a FREE Option to join .Instead 350 joining fee .That would exclude a lot of People from joining  Pay Per Job would of encouraged lads to work prime times as no increase in Comission based on increase in Tarriffs . Small Quarterly Subscription on top  to Stop the Bandits and pay the staff .

People seem to forget Taxi Apps sell the Passengers back to the Drivers if you have no passengers you have nothing to sell .Aiken Promotions Book the Band before they try sell the tickets . Not sell the tickets and then see if they can get a band to play.

Im out in taxi today after a month off ..... fn and bolt  are completely dead .... not 1 offer .... ive got 1 job off of tap 28 quid ..... hopefully  itll pick up in Sept

Do you see My point Merch .Treating the Symptom Lads want an Irish Taxi App not UBER not Free Now .Thats a symptom, the Disease  Is in latin Customer evaporatus .The Customers are gone .So get them back .Vera paid 30 for her spray n tan then 140 for her hairdo .She isint walking out to the Mainer to get a taxi she is going to App she wants a Car clean reliable and instant .You only need to give her that she is your customer for life .You let her down on the way home she forgets about the Great service you offered earlier .Nearest car will oblige driver not doing loops looking for you .If it was only costing a lad the price of the PUC he would not mind he didnt have to rank waste time .One extra job per shift would cover the PUC .PLEASE THE CUSTOMER .Big Paddy Clancy had the Cheapest winsow washing round lost all his customers by using dirty water and rags .Its not always about price SERVICE ,Reliability thats why the Big Two offer Bobo during peak times to keep the CUSTOMER HAPPY they dont give a fuck about the drivers .

They've a big enough fund to be able to pivot (even temporarily) to pay per job. Once it gets a decent bit of coverage and work they can decide then what to do.Anyway running an app is a tough task for mostly newbies.Might take a while to figure it all out.

I would think the Members bought into the model they bought into and people who dropped out would make their way to the Black Cloak brigade saying they were defrauded this is not what they signed up to and any change they demand their share is reinstated or bought out as the terms and conditions no longer apply .You know how this game works .?

If there's not enough work on it for everyone it won't succeed. If the passengers don't have cover it wont succeed.Compromises will be made.I just treat it like any other app.Coop means nothing to me.If there's a job near me I'll  cover it enthusiastically..

My TAT number is the the mid 1900's and a Cork colleague who joined 3 day before me, his number was 22 less than mine, so to hazard a guess TAT is at almost 2000 members and signing about 7 new drivers a day ??

Nice one.... it's looking good.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

That's very impressive if we are approaching 2000 drivers, I'm very glad to see that the momentum seems to be continuing. Despite the naysayer(s) this is the first real attempt to take back the business, and should be supported, albeit while continuing to get what some individuals need from the other apps, just write off an extra Sat night hour @ €27.70, and if there is an easy "on the drip" option for the €300. Be prepared for some "f$ck us up" tactics from the billionaire Trumpian apps now.

...... and if there is an easy "on the drip" option for the €300. .....
I was thinking the same Harry, if they proposed E170 a month fer the first 6 months and then E120 a month after that they might entice a few more rather than hitting them with a first day E300 start-up.
