I think I'll stick with my double expresso in a bottle, works for me!
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Cabbie is  a mini cab or new York cabbie
Or Hackney cab
If it has  a taxi roof sign it's a. TAXI

Yeah some of my mates used to use to keep awake during heavy drinking sessions.Fukking eejets wasting their money.

I've seen a bit of that too, seemingly a quick snort on a drinking session will keep you going much longer.

"Burns was using his taxi at the time and there was a "tick list" amounting to several thousand euro owed to him by customers."

That sounds very sinister to me.
Also, letting cunts pay later instead of getting the dosh there and then. No wonder he was brutal at driving a joe.

Back in my 'Bootleg' days many of my customers were drug users or drug dealers, I was friendly with quite a few of them and they often spoke honestly to me. Seemingly the cocaine trade in mostly dealt with in Credit, which I was amazed to hear, because in my Bootleg business it was always 'Cash on the Dash' !

I used to drive a few "girls" from a Nth Quay apartment block to various destinations around Donnybrook and Ballsbridge many yrs ago. Got friendly with one of them because I never asked any questions nor did I judge what they did for a living. Before long she started to tell me too much so I got bit paranoid about the whole thing and walked away. One thing I can reveal is that some of the crap we read in the papers is small compared to what the big guys in big jobs get up to when it comes to illicit substances. I remember telling her she ought to keep a little diary.

If taking (snorting?) cocaine is common among taxi drivers one can't help wondering if this double jobber's cocaine trade is endorsed by TTNH as a preferred supplier or some such. It'd be interesting to see some of the names on the list...

It's a bit like the apple on the bedside locker dilemma;- burglar breaks in and you knife him...it's only murder if you didn't have an apple beside your knife on the locker....anyway keep stirring it........ 8)

Apparently medical students take psudoephedrine like the stuff in solpha sinus etc to stay awake.Cocaine us just more fashionable.Youd never see two blokes sharing sinus meds in the jax.
