What a lovely story. Did you use reasonable force to remove him?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Is this another of your made up stories that you are so fond of making up?

Is this another of your made up stories that you are so fond of making up?

Which is more far fetched:
the erm hauling himself out of the car to remove a passenger
being number 3 on the Burlington on the busiest Friday of the year
the erm working of a Friday
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

do ye remember the aulone about a year ago that rang up Joe Duffy.
She said she left some shopping in a taxi driver's boot and that she reckoned he deliberately drove off with them after she got out. She was only up in dublin for a few days or something. Instead of darting the stuff in finglas lost and found, the taxi driver heard the appeal and drove down the bog free of charge and returned her toblerones and bandages - after being accused of deliberately trying to knock them off. Arguably one of the most cringeworthy "Joe, ..." moments in recent memory.

Made a funny error myself a couple of months ago, a first after 24 years. I was hailo'd by a gentleman on Shanard Road who was waiting on the street corner when I arrived. He had a couple of bags and a stick with him so asks will he put them in the boot or on the back seat. I told him either would do so he opted for the back seat and told me he was going to Shanowen Square. The door bangs behind me and I proceeded to Shanowen square and say 6 euros please sir... no response so I look around and he isn't in the car! I drive back around the corner and find him on the phone to the Gardai. Quite irate, he asks why did you drive off on me so I explain that I thought he'd got in behind me. So in he gets and explains that he hadn't a clue where he was and all his prized possessions including a playstation and such like were in his bags as he was only moving in to Shanowen Square. Once he realised it was a genuine mistake we had a laugh about it and he apologised for calling the Gardai on me... I let him off the €6 but he insisted on paying and left it on the dash.

The difference between a Taxi man and a taxi driver...you knew he would decline the waiver of your fee...business is business.

Indeed. Similar methodology applies when the fare is 5.20 5.40 5.60 or 10.20 10.40 10.60... as they pull the coins out of their phone/purse you say ah 5 (or 10) will do you... so you get the 6 or 10/12. As Tesco say, every little helps!

Works a treat about 90% of the time in the night time game !

"Yarra shur what ever ya have handy" Or "One sec, I'll get ya a few coins change"
which is in a coin bag far, far away and well out of sight, works well fer me.
