how is mytaxi doing these days.
has it unknackered itself.
lot of unhappy punters moaning after it was rebranded from hailo.
Technically, it's greatly improved... at least in theory. Customers seem to have got used to the new interface and there have been significant improvements to the driver app. In app navigation makes the job a lot easier (particularly for those who don't have great navigational skills or good command of the ENGLISH language) but it's not perfect by any means. The fact that it doesn't facilitate U Turns or recognise access to bus corridors creates problems with run in times given to clients. For example, I accepted a job from the Gate Theatre to Santry last night as I was idle on Berkley Rd. The initial run in displayed as 3 mins on my app but changed to 7 mins when I drove onto Frederick St North. Obviously the same information was given to the client as he, understandably, cancelled at that point. On balance the lower tech straight line calculations used by Hail0 probably worked better in practice. mytaxi's approach, while technically vastly superior, strives for a level of perfection that isn't achievable given inherent constraints in the real world.
There's still a plethora of relatively minor irritations with the driver app that ought to be addressed e.g. the mickey mouse fare input process and the long winded feedback routines for claiming no contact fees, etc.
