Why no CC facilities DM ?
It's pretty basic these day if you have a smartphone to get set up with MyTaxi/SumUp or CabApp fer CC.

If you don't have a smartphone and need help, then do as I did and post on here.
I had no idea of what I was doing when I got my First smartphone, but with the help and understanding of the forum I soon got it working, Thanks to Roy in particular.
Granted we are generally a bad lot, but if a colleague needs a helping hand (Regardless of how stupid the query is) we as a whole do tend to look after and help each other.

RW asked him a few years back to let me join, but he wasn't having it

Ring Roy Martin himself, his number is on his ireland by taxi website.
https://irelandbytaxi.com/

Ya never know what he might come up with fer you,
he gave me a nice job last year from Kerry airport going back to Cork,
the set was 120, the meter would have been about 150, I was happy with the 120.
AFAIK all he requires is a clean cab with credit card facilities,
be no harm in him having your number, he text's out the jobs
and you can take them or leave them as you please.

Over 200KM and 3hours driving.
 €30 discount + fuel,
The old saying working for nothing.

Belker thanks for your advice, but im a great believer in NOT. Leaving paper trails for any reason.i don't do a lot of hours per week, but just enough to cover domostic bills food etc etc ,so I couldn't justify additional expense. Another reason I would not have one is,they were introduced to our industry by those bastard radio company's who seem to think they are the drivers employers ,and I will NOT allow my business be dictated to by terms these scumbags have brought in

CC facilities are over-rated. Most punters will come up with cash at a push.

There is No fees until Dec 2019 with MyTaxi Sum-up reader, so I have my CC stickers

That job that Roy offered me was a job that I really wanted to do,
it was an afternoon job to Kerry (possibly one of the most scenic drives in the world)
and I got the pleasure of meeting a retired US army colonel as my customer,
probably the most enthralling Non Bullshit man that I have ever met in my life.
Getting paid fer it was a bonus !

I dunno how you reckon 100 notes fer 3 hours work is "Working for nothing" ?

I guess it would have had greater appeal during the last recession. These days men would easily expect to average €30/hour takings with no effort/commitment, particularly at peak times. I guess any drive could "possibly" be the most scenic in the world. I covered jobs last night from housing schemes named Tulip, Snowdrop, Buttercup and Primrose. How could such descriptions depict anything other than idyllic tranquility...

Poetic licence, Hal. In fact I covered one from Buttercup and one from Primrose last night with another from Buttercup on Monday... and one or two from Moatview, which isn't a million miles away.

I only noticed that all the streets in Cabra and Crumlin Drimnagh are named after rivers, mountains and loughs that I'll never visit.

Only in jest, DM. I work Darndale and surrounding areas quite a lot. I much prefer dealing with honest, decent, working class folk than pretentious prats with millionaires' addresses.... although, the scheme does look like something you'd see on Air Crash Investigation for a few weeks/months after Halloween every year.
