You posted this thread initially under the name Moore182....how did you manage to change this without admin access?

Profile -> Account Settings.

Apparently anyone can change their handle. Should I (try to) disable that feature. I reckon it can be disabled as I don't think it was allowed on Roys.

I answered because I didn't know it was possible until you drew attention to it. You may have noticed that I briefly changed my own account name to investigate. I can assure you that I don't post under any other user name... aside from the occasional interjection under the Admin account, such reactions not being open to debate.

Side note: I noticed the interchanging of usernames when you were quaffing Chianti or whatever, in Capri or Sardinia....not my place nor my bag..and certainly not done by me.....as Sherlock/Clouseau noted...."Watson, you phool....it's the dog that didn't bark...every time".

The facility has been removed now. I have vague recollection of enabling it when the original forum was first set up. I think IWS was unable to register the name he used on Roy's (I'm Waiting For The Sun To Shine") because it was rejected by the software (probably for being too long) during registration but I found that it could have been entered by editing the profile after registration under another name.

TBH, I didn't't look at the forum at all while on vacation. I didn't even read any of the complaints received by email due to a complete lack of interest.

I assumed the name was changed to hide any linking of a username to the ring less married person.Dunno what that says about me.

From reading the discussion I suspect the OP wanted to make his gender clear - of course he could have just said "I'm a man" in his best Frank Spencer accent. We still don't know his wife's gender. I knew he was a man all along, women don't generally give their surname in the first instance.

There's generally a steady enough stream of complaints. Since trade has improved and the wider taxi driving community has relatively little to whinge about the forum is often accused of presenting drivers' in poor light, giving the impression that all taxi drivers are racist loonies and such like. I used to respond but I don't bother any more, it only encourages them.
