Yes indeed rat I never thought I would be critical of rep bodies, but I find it incredible that they are actively trying to recruit drivers into the industry.I have to say,I have seen no evidence of this, but I assume you are informed in this regard

Joe Herron (Proprietor, ITDF) is on record explaining that 20,000 drivers left the trade for better (paid) jobs.
Jim Wadron (Spokesman, NPHTA) is on record complaining that the cost of entry is too high.

A lot of the other unions sit on TAC hence implicitly supported NTAs recent recruitment drive. In fact, some of them organised some mickey mouse protest at a partial road/lane closure up above in Dublin to divert attention from said recruitment campaign.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Time has come for re-election of taxi advisory committee,
Taxi drivers are in the minority on that committee,
And most always get voted down
It's a waste of time,
Noel Ebbs is on the committee continuing to argue for lowering the psv entry test,
I'd be very surprised if ttnh is allowed back on it,
McGuiness continually get into heavy debate with Ebbs,
Big bull and cow with McGuiness and Ebbs at the last meeting,
There's only a few taxi reps on it ,
And I can State for sure that ttnh continue to claim the industry is over supplied.

And they also like to support drug dealing taxi drivers who also rob customers by bringing them the long way

........All you really need to do is change the mind set of punters who STILL ring these scumbags, and let them know that they no longer need to ring, just come out to the street and hail.save yourself 100 plus a week  the punters won't be long getting used to this way.....

I tried that hailing on the street thing a few months ago, I was going in to town to collect me Joe from the garage, it was dark at about 8pm and I was dressed fer work in my usual boots, slacks and collared shirt with no food, drink or smokes in hand. 4 taxies with their rooflights on whizzed past me as I hailed, as the 5th taxi passed me I threw my hands up to heaven, Paddy blackman saw my gesture and hit the brakes and reversed back to me, he got a Tenner fer a 7Euro fare and ever since then when I need a taxi then I use the MyTaxi app rather than be stood out on the street being judged and feeling like a fool.

Would you pick up 50 odd year old wearing Cowboys, a collared Shirt and slacks??? Standing straight, how many times have you seen that yourself, and as soon as they move towards the taxi they fall 20 steps backwards, 10 forwards, 5 sideways and try opening the door with their keys ffs

Ahhh I'm just yanking your chain buddy.
They probably didn't know what a street hail was ffs, too used to using apps and following Sat Navs

I have no idea of why they all drove past me but it kinda puts Paid to DM's argument that all punters should street hail.

Drivers don't know what a street hail is anymore, some never knew what they are, they've only ever used apps which bring the driver to the customer. They are too busy focusing on the app they drive by a street hail

Ok then if YOU are all insisting that apps are nessesary,(I dont agree) but if your insisting they are, then why not build our own to rival my taxi, and put scumbag radio companies (who think they are your employers ) out of business

Some think a certain company might be an active agent of the state, Dalyer....it could be interpreted by conspiracy theorists that there's a more sinister element to all this...if one examines the new driver database. :-\
