I include all those details, but that regardless of whether I'm a limo or not.
We don’t care

  Rules and regulations,
It's against the law to have a on/off switch on your receipt printer, doesn't make sense,
One person asked me for a receipt over the Christmas, At night,
No one is interested in taking receipts,
So the receipt machine continuous to spew out rolls of paper
If they asked for a receipt no problem,
But don't throw them on the floor of the car.

Cash registers in shops, petrol stations have the option to not print a receipt unless otherwise asked by the customer,i always make it my business to issue one although some people just exit and don't wait around for the receipt to print.

I'm sure the NTA would be open to adjusting the rules but at the same time might try to make accepting cards compulsory.Sound great now but when ya meet yer accountant yis might be getting a shock.

Surely the card reader thingys are too unreliable to make compulsory???

Black cabbies in London are supposed to have card readers since a few years ago. They agreed to it as a method to combat Uber.If its in the taxi regs they can fine ya for not having it working just like the meter.Mine is pretty reliable even though I'll say its broken sometimes.

Wasn't there someone in the paper from the Irish hotel federation or something asking for the rules to be changed to force us to take cards. We've another few years at most before the game is up.The NTA never give anything away without expecting something back.

Just to clarify Payby Mytaxi is shite but my Sumup works everytime.

What happens when it doesn't work, though. Who takes the hit?

If NTA make it compulsory they should provide a failover facility, perhaps via Telephone or SMS.

I nearly had a heart attack the first time MyTaxi didn't process a fare for me - it was for e30.  (We swapped details etc)  Thinking it was a bad signal, I drove away to a better spot and restarted the phone maybe 20mins after the guy had gotten out of the taxi.  MyTaxi started up and remembered the details.  I swiped etc and the payment processed.  Longest 5 mins of my life  :(

It's happened to me 3 or 4 times since then.  Go to a stronger signal area, restart the phone and MT remembers.  It must cache the details on the server or sumting?

It's not ideal but restarting the phone seems to help.  Presumably wouldn't work if the person wanted to switch from cash to card and had to authorize payment via their phone.

(I have a reasonably good phone - 4Gb Ram, 64Gb memory, strong 3G signal.  Never any problems with Google maps or Youtube)

If you left the meter running for the time it takes to process a Pay with Mytaxi fare...you could earn another few euro in waiting time.

Yet you have a card to pick up your pension?
Methinks the fool doth protest too much.
If your declared earnings exceed circa €150, does it result inn a reduced pension?

When you get to the airport, make sure your WiFi is off otherwise it’ll try connect to the airport WiFi. Try that.
I’ve never had a problem processing a card at the airport

I've never had a problem at the airport - bit slow sometimess.  Usually it's the 'periphery' of the city like Blanch or East Point Biz Park.
