I'll get on to the Mayor and organise buntings and a welcome committee...let me know what time you're arriving?

You took too long to reply. Quick smash and grab is more effective. She has a job interview nearby.....her agency work might be about to come to an end with the unrest etc. Driving up and down the M1 in a Picanto will soon put her off weekends with an agency anyway if we ever do move. Pointed out how Drogheda has its own social problems but there's an air about the place we're in now..........bit tense.

Ah sorry bout dat....was out n about with the missus....clutch went in her car on Thurs...got it sorted yesterday....and we were enjoying each others company!!

She should get a Prius.

She has the car from new(i bought it for her actually)2007,now that she's back working fulltime she want to change it in a year or two....i said she needs to get her moneys worth (€340) out of that new clutch, they changed the gearbox oil while they were at it,said it was mank....i'd say it was with 220k on the clock....she said she'd like one the Corolla hatchback hybrids when she does change.

What I done with Mrs. Catcher was make her think it was her idea to take my old yoke...saved her a small fortune and she thinks it's great for the planet to extend the life of an ex-taxi... well albeit my ex-taxi which, in honesty, probably has lower kilometerage than most private cars of a similar age... If you want their opinion you have to tell them it!

Absolutely, i service it when it needs doin.....i was prepared to do the clutch..although i've never attempted one before..i did price the 3 piece clutch set....€154..but i would have had to get the car out to my buddys workshop in Tullyallen and would have taken me the day no doubt...well worth paying someone else to get their already dirty hands dirtier!!

Wouldn't tackle a clutch myself nowadays, at least a day's work in it... Euroclutch in Baldoyle do it in half a day and I've never had a problem with their work, always lasts as long as the original.

Indeed...i left the car with him on Sat afternoon, said he'd have it on the lift to start first thing Mon....i had a missed call from him at lunchtime...turned out it was ready then but i was having some me and me missus time...i thought €340 was a good price.

Depends on the motor and how you drive it, DM. c.150,000 kilos was what I got out of my manual Octys, MKI and MKII. Mrs Catcher got about 170,000 kilos out of her old 2005 Fabia.

Sounds reasonable enough, Hal... it obviously isn't a DMF... did you tell him you're a taximan, without mentioning that you drive a Prius!

2 drivers a clutch might last 5 yrs. Lazy left legs cause the probs.
