It's grand for blokes that aren't really cut out for work. The trouble with a real job is that you have to turn up whether you want to or not... except for a few handy numbers in the civil service, that is.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I find it a little boring tbh...but what job would you like Firewall that pays better than driving people around?

Any of them office jobs where ya get a company Beemer takes years of brown nosing to make it to the top with lots of sacrificing time with yer family..If ya can't make it in this job what hope have ya in something more difficult.I'm serious not taking the piss.

The benefits pay off. If I was sick tomorrow, or any of us, you have no income coming in. You still have to pay for the taxi in the driveway. Another job may pay you when you are sick, on holidays, etc. Yes when taxi driving is busy you have loads of money, but you need to be putting that away for rainy day. Come retirement you want to relax.

Not all bosses would pay ya sick pay indefinitely. After a few months of an illness they'd be quick enough to reign in on the freebies. We think we have a shite job but all the suits want is to have the freedom we have.

I've yet to see a job that would be easier and pay as well.Ya get a pain in yer hole sometimes but ya can just piss off home when ya want.

All them Google gimps we get in the car get well paid. But they spent most of their younger years in college and working for almost nothing. It's not as rosey as it looks.

Zero hour contracts.
Google/ Facebook staff average 60/70K P/A.
50 to 60% of their Nett goes on rent.

As MfH said, it's not that rosy.

And with most being single, they pay 40% tax on anything over 35k, which is why their salaries seem so high. But 40% of 35k is 14k, then as SB says, another 50% on rent.
Can you imagine living on €500 a week, to pay for everything in your house and all your bills.
Can you imagine not being able to earn anymore money whatsoever, and having to be at work at 7:30 to beat the traffic and staying there til 5:30, 5 days a week. Sitting down, staring at various screens, boring boring boring

There's no handy numbers in the private sector. Those with ambition are generally workaholics competing to be first in and last out every day... 9-5 quickly becomes 7-9 when you take that into account together with ever-increasing commutes.
