Suitability Failed -Puncture device

Suitability Failed to today for not having a puncture repair device. Can anyone clarify, can I use one of the puncture repair slime kits instead of a spare wheel?

if the car came from the manufacturer without a spare then you can carry  a kit on board .

Yeah my car comes from factory with run-flats, so I would assume a repair kit would be sufficient in this case.

They didn't check my spare, DM but it had already passed the NCT... maybe Firewall is an immigrant?

Very hard to fail suitability if you're Irish by accident of birth.

Inflator might be considered part of the kit by some jobsworth who thought about it down the pub when explaining to some youngone fron Liscannor how important his job was visa vie passenger security in the small public service aren..I think some of them make it up as they go ,but as you said I would ring the Department of taxi stuff for clarification and appeal if it is not a requirement .

Did they fail you because you had a spare wheel instead of a puncture repair device that came as part of the manufacture?

Does the inflator kit need a kitemark or some standard mark like the fireputterouterthingey .

I had neither a spare nor a inflation device, puncture repair kit. Don't know how it would fail for something like that. NCT was two weeks ago and didn't fail.
