^^^^^^STC it's almost always a wood screw. You pull it out with a pliers and bore the hole out with the tool then insert the rubber yoke, that needs a bit of muscle, then cut the surplus off with the Stanley that's included.Just did one this morning.
Ok MFH I understand had this done many a times, BUT what about when it don't fall in to the "Almost Always" category, how you find the hole if the screw don't exist ?

Connect the 12v air compressor and listen...i generally remove rear wheels if they have a puncture....fronts..you can lock the front wheels in a turn position and roll it....the offending screw or nail is generally visible.

<snip> My car is modern, Watty. It's an oh16 FFS... and it has a full size spare wheel.

Did it come with the car originally or did the original owners buy it?

Of the mainstream car brands available in the UK, just Hyundai, Mercedes, Ssangyong, Toyota and VW offer spare wheels in 90% or more of their entire current model range. At the opposite end of the spectrum, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Mini, Skoda and Subaru all don’t offer a spare at all, instead opting for a puncture repair kit.

Skoda: ‘We use this puncture repair kit in our overall strive for environmentally friendly car operation to decrease weight and improve efficiency.’

Bollocks on all that ! I have often seen mechanics in tyre garages rolling tyres around and spraying the tyre fer up to Ten minutes with a washing-up liquid solution to find the Bubble, imagine doing that at 3 in the morning out in the bogs in the pissing rain !
Full size spare wheel in the boot is the only way to go fer me.

That's an an option but her spare doesn't fit on my car and yer taxi pals won't be answering the mobile if it's busy out.It might seem unlikely but I got two in a week on the same wheel. When I was a courier I got 3 in two weeks during the tiger years.Building sites and skips everywhere in town and my eyesight isn't good enough to dodge the screws on the road.Erm your eyes are fecked. You'd bollixed out there.

Ah....cuddle you said...........how remiss of me and my sarcasm. Last coddle I had was in the Leop Inn many moons ago. I was waiting on a fellow from Galway who had won several thousand at the races..........Dec 27th 2007...........nice little earner from Brewery Rd to Loughrea. He had a return ticket from Store St to Galway in case he lost. Spent the night on the piss with him...........the good old days before my back went .
