You could use sumup and still be independent.  Commission is less than 3%.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Its not the commision watty, i. just like to remain self employed in the full meaning of SELF employed.most of the drivers who are aligned came from the paye sector, only to rejoin it..as long as they are aligned they will NEVER be self employed. Kearns,Kelly, and Ebbs will always pull their strings

They too are on the way out.
At.least you've a  Semi State pension to fall back on.
They have to spoof drivers to pay them rent to build up their pensions. Before it's too late.

Wishful thinking, SB. mytaxi is more popular than ever with (immigrant) drivers working for the firm are paying €3+/hour freight. In fact it has so much work these days that it has to use hackneys and clapped out shiteboxes masquerading as limousines to cover taxi fares as well as flooding the city with drivers who aren't even licensed to work up above in Dublin.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Wonder how many of the chosen 180 were with our super doper despatch firm MYT ? I know the NTA are responsible for vetting us scum but surely they have to take some of the blame

No... you think NTA are responsible for vetting. In fact, An Garda Siochana is responsible for vetting. mytaxi doesn't give a flying fuck and isn't required to.

Its the Gardai who have sole responsibility for vetting, and maybe sometime in the future, when they stop being afraid of the immigrant council of Ireland, they might actually DO the fukking job properly, instead of paying lip service

OK Rat so Garda do the initial vet and also at renewal time every 5 years.

What about if I murder , rape someone in  the meantime , will I be OK to renew my licence every year ?

An Garda Siochana have the power to revoke your licence at any time, they don't have to wait until renewal. However, I don't think they do it very often. I know of a few drivers who done time for drug dealing but never lost their licences.

OK so it looks like this whole idea of vetting is a load of me bolx , you can deal drugs or be part of the Holy 180 who came in on the last spaceship and still get a fckn Taxi Licence, I went for me suitability this morning and got turned down because of no hub caps (forgot to put them back on after NCT) and also bubbly sticker.

The LRA seems to have got a lot more stringent in recent times. Your suggestion that being white and Irish by accident of birth is a disadvantage in the current climate may not be as silly as it sounds. I had a punter in my car a few weeks back who suggested that there was a major shake up in Applus+++ when a study of LRA failures found that the vast majority of vehicles that failed were owned or operated by immigrants... maybe the new regime has been instructed to redress the balance?

Obviously that's all hearsay and rumour but I have got away with a lot myself as far as the LRA goes... including pealing/damaged door stickers (twice told it won't pass next year, only resubmitted once when it passed with the same i.e. the second warning) and a missing decal from the rear window.

And tested by a white Irish male in his 50's, I would have expected a little bit of lee-way

Indeed... as noted, I've benefited from the odd blind eye here and there over the years...
