Brought in last years Mortgage statement Monthly repayments 115 Euro .Lad said he pays more than that a month for insurance .I dont need a full time job .In my 20s and 30s I worked like a rented mule .Went into semi retirement when I was 45 .More to life than work and amassing assetts for the kids to fight over .

A lot of people who tell you they have two or more houses usually mean they have two or more mortgages .You can only eat one dinner sleep in one bed and shit in one pot .Mate of mine spent over 200K on kids education .Son is a Junkie got hooked in University ,Daughter 1 married a plumber she has a degree but works part time doing phone sales from home .Youngest Girl dropped out of College not working living at home .Money or property is no guarentee of happiness .We all need to find our own Bliss .

Sure does me Ma use to say at least you can be miserable in comfort .You just need to find a balance ,I see people up here in Dublin dropping off the kids at 7 in the morning at their mothers house so they can go to work then collect them and drive home and park their expensive car outside their expensive house .Most of the new housing estates are being built without a pub as publicans know there is no disposable income .People must be under huge stress .I had a girl in the car a few weeks ago and she commented .There are no pubs in Ballymun but there are 9 chemists .Stress and anger kill more people than cancer .Learn to mind yourself sometimes the prize isint worth the competition .

The tihng that kills the equality brigade is the realisation that yrs ago one wage sufficed to keep the wolf from the door........not both are earning the same net salary for twice the labour....whilst dumping all their responsibilities on those who've already done it....their mammies and daddies....ergo....the winners are the corporations....

Pub trade is fooked.
Worked in bars years ago and on a Sunday morning before we opened the door we would have on about 30 pints settling to beat the rush.
You would never see that now.

Publicans were all cute Tipp and Cavan men who cashed out when the slow-to-cop-on Dubs started watching Sky Sports at home with their 12 packs...
