Ken I have said many times my problem with the radio
scumbags is they have a belief the drivers are actually Their EMPLOYEES, rather then EMPLOYERS .these people are not only directing, but actually DISCIPLINING,drivers who are supposly self employed
Jaysus ! Relax DM, The one good thing about Irish Taxi radio bases is that they are Non-compulsory, as in if'n you don't like them, then you don't have to join them, the App's are the same, take em or leave em !
Why are you so concerned about other peoples problems ?

Its very simple why im concerned Ken .you saidi.ts not compulsory  to join, but because of drivers ongoing desire to be aligned, particularly with mytaxi, its now considered to be the norm both by customers, and NTA alike.this has effectively taken away my right to continue to operate independently.in other words now that the govt have seen such a willingness by drivers to align, they will make it compulsory for new entrants, and possibly old timers as well

Ah ! Your taking the Piss now DM, neither Base radios's nor App's are compulsory and no where have I ever seen that they might be in the future.
No one has taken away your right to do anything.
Will you be working tonight under your own steam ? There ya go, there's your answer !

Relax DM, your seeing problems that aren't really there ! Chill !!

At a guess 10 years back about 5%, today about 75%.

Ken you say nowhere have you seen it that becoming aligned will be compulsory ? Well I can tell you Alan Kelly expressed his desire  to me one day at a meeting in the dept of transport have us all aligned .my response was toto advise hin that if such a ruling ever became mandatory, that I would go around the country and ask all independent drivers to robustly oppose this through ongoing protest action.my position has not changed

DM, isn’t a shop keeper self employed? Then they might decide to trade under a franchise(Spar, Centra, Mace etc etc) and wear uniforms, sell that’s brands products etc etc etc. Is that shopkeeper still self employed??
