The Shiners have some immigrants on some of the councils up above in Dublin, they're probably pro-taxi.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

But all them stook on popular issues ie housing hse tax etc

Not moronic taxi driver issues who people hate anyway

I wasent asked somebody else who didnt want to stand was afraid if somebody else got elected they would become the De facto leader so fucked it up ..Nobody who stood as a Taxi candidate could get elected but if you ran local football clubs and youth groups and had the support of drivers willing to knock doors and just get themselves their family and friends to the voting places free lifts we could on taken a seat in each Ward no problem .

Some day if we ever meet up Ill tell you exactly what went on  .

I still tink ur missing the point
It's too small a issue to get elected on and generally the public hate us
It want to be a big family to get us elected in.one area
The point I'm making is big political names with money and teams behind them struggle to get elected sometimes
Image knocking on doors pushing a taxi issue in areas destroyed by drugs and unemployment it's a joke

The hse .unemployment.  water .homeless all hot issues
Taxis ?? Who cares except us

As I said lobby a existing td  these not enough of us or the interest publicly for us
We are a non issue to everybody including the nta

Thats exactly the way you do it Dalymount Your the Drivers candidates but you run on local issues like water charges or bin charges or save the swimming pool the Drivers vote is your base .Gets you far enough up the result sheet to be able to pick up transfers .But that ship sailed 10 years ago .Shinners and Greens now get the anti vote vote .The opportunity was 10 years ago back when every Shinner knew how to fire a Rifle or wire a device or every Green had an allotment and not a First Class Honours degree from UCD ,Dublin city council will turn the City into a cycle track where we cannot work but we knew this and we did nothing .

I got a taxi as my pension get the state few quid and taxi for change but I dont think thats going to be possible .In ten years we will need electric cars payment will be by card and work by app bif companies will own the trade jusy like Paddy Power and Boylesports own the book making trade in Ireland .

My thoughts exactly .state pension for domostic bills, taxi for groocery shopping.unfortunately thats changed now.the expense of staying in the industry, does not justify the cost of it ,and to make it worse,if you dont join a dispatcher, you have no chance, and if you do join a dispatcher, you'll be expected to provide a screen in your car at your own expense, which may,or may not pass the reinvent NCT,suitability, insurance tests

Wait and watch 42 Greens with a voice .Bike lanes 30km speed limits that eat up fuel clog exhausts 24 hour public transport congestion charges all issues that will effect the way we work but nobody ever asked our opinion .Just a little interesting fact there are more taxi drivers in Ireland than Publicans .When the PDs wanted to licence Cafe Bars the Publicans managed to put an end to that .Do you think if they decide to go with Rideshare we could stop that .How many TDs are Publicans .

I know im going to get slaughtered for saying this again, but im sick and tired hearing about how dispatchers own the game.how the fukk can dispatchers own the game when we ,the drivers hugely outnumber them ? Is there NOBODY on here at all that can see our strength is our numbers ? When you have all the drivers speaking with one voice to achieve a common set of goals, then the world is your lobster. Now I can hear you all saying already ,therein lies the problem.you CANT unite taxi drivers, and it is that fact that F/N ,Ebbs Kearns,Kelly, etc are banking on.this is I believe what TTNH,and the other unions should be trying to achieve. UNITY,.its hard to see it,when the leaders of these unions wont come together, never mind the membership.what could be achieved is frightening if it ever happens.why isn't Jim Waldron calling for it ? Why are the TTNH not calling for it  ? Why are DATA nit calling for it ? ©are they all afraid they might actually achieve it  ?  Think about it .no more discounts, full restoration of full fares, you call the shots etc

Exploitation of drivers speaks a universal language, and should be challenged when it raises its ugly head
