Work Prospects

So in the calm before the storm what do you think ,Will the Schools reopen in early September ,Will the Pubs reopen late September and will Live sporting events be allowed .Will there be enough work available for us to return to work full time this year ?

I personally dont think there will be work or wet pubs will reopen in late September after schools reopen .They will probably allow a few attend live sporting events and I dont think Mick from Cork will be Taoiseach by Christmas .

I think if and more than likely when all drivers are back working you'll probably see the wobbly stools making a comeback, for those who can survive on a few hundred per week will be grand but those who can't because there won't be enough work to go around.....Frankey might have to brush aside his morals to comfort even more widdas.

The man in the shiney shoes said this is a part time gig .I think he is right dont think a lot of full time drivers will make a living out of the industry .

are all the lads back working going to claim the 1,000 grant? I heard some lads saying they put say 300 down for diesel but didn't show any receipts.

Dont be listening to wank  rank gossip, its simple you can claim for whatever extra expenses you incurred to get back to work, snotscreen, gloves hand sanitiser and so forth.
The  up to 1k grant is exactly what it says.... Up TOO, if you spend €500 on screen, gloves and such then thats what you get, diesel, services  licence renewal expenses are not part of the grant.

In that case I don't think I will bother with it. I thought I read fuel costs were included though. I got a few repairs done in the couple of weeks before I went back working but I would have had to get that done anyway so id say I wouldn't be due much money back.

Fuel costs ARE included. It's whatever you "needed" to get your "business" back up and running. You guys should read up on it....you get back 80% of your qualifying expenses.
So to get the full grand, you need to claim for 1250 worth of stuff. I put down for over 1500 worth so if they don't allow me something I'll still be in with a chance of getting max or close to it.
