I hope you're wrong. In any event, he will still go down in history as (one of) the best Teeshig we ever had. We certainly owe him a debt of gratitude for his handling of the COVID '19 pandemic and perhaps, to a lesser extent, his skilled negotiation of Brexit. Chucky our law!

Bring back Dr. Leo. Dr. Leo was great so he was...

WILLIE O DEA TELLS EAMO THE CABBAGE TO KISS THE BUT END OF HIS BOLLOX LIVE ON RADIO .Election on the way O Dea sais if Eamon the Cabbage dosent built this road and has to stop fucking around with green shit just build the fucking road .That he will not vote for any green policies in government .Now thats a red rag to a Bull .Nessa Hourigan and her mates in Dublin will vote against CEPA now O Dea has threatened their Cabbagery and Sandal wearing Bike peddeling Yoga practicing fuckology .

The decision by the Minister for Transport not to sign off a road construction project in Limerick has caused consternation locally, according to Fianna Fáil TD Willie O'Dea.

The €45m Coonagh-Knockalisheen road is one of the biggest infrastructural projects under the Limerick Regeneration plan.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr O'Dea said €17 million has already been spent on preparatory works.

Minister Eamon Ryan said the Government "has to deliver for the people of Moyross" and will build access and connectivity in the area and a section of the road will be built from Moyross Avenue to the Cratole and Ennis Road roundabout.

But, he said, he wants to work at the same time with city management to open up proper pedestrian and public transport access.

Mr Ryan said that a second section of the road would be examined to see if it could integrate with other new housing or transport developments at the same time as building the road.

Mr O'Dea claimed these amended plans would lead to a "a rat run though a residential area of Moyross", which would prevent investment linked to the development of the road.

He said support for green policies will depend on support for the policies of other parties, including this road, which is part of the "compromise" agreement that is  in the Programme for Government.

Minister Ryan said his plans will not delay development of the infrastructure but he is "keen to get it right" and make it sustainable.

He said it is part of a bigger plan for radical investment for Limerick to help modernise the transport system.

If there's an election this year erm, do you think we'll finally achieve the socialist Republic of our (forefathers') dreams... and will you recognise the empathetic understanding of our trade displayed by Richard Boyd-barrett T.D. in these difficult COVID '19 infested times and reward that attention by electing your local SPBP candidate?

That's not very nice, erm. I hope Richard doesn't look in, he certainly doesn't deserve such disrespectful ingratitude given his genuine efforts on our behalf. However, you clearly misunderstood the situation before An Taoiseach cut our puppy dole. While you were allowed to work you weren't allowed a regular income from that work. An Taoiseach cut our puppy dole to punish us for protesting. The effect of that was to force men to work and spread disease. In fact, I remember you taking to the internet during Dr. Leo's tenure to tell us all how irresponsible it would be to work, back when there was plenty of ICU availability... and then coming back after the puppy dole cuts to report that you had been out hunting for victims despite a state of absolute crisis in our hospitals with no ICU availability from Donegal to Cork.

Did your constituency elect a SPBP candidate at the last general election?

There's no doubt that we owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Leo. He deserves his place in history as the best Taoiseach the country has ever had for his handling of the COVID '19 pandemic alone. He granted us leadership when we craved leadership and in doing so commanded unparalleled respect across political lines. In fact you, yourself, took to the internet to preach his word and spread his message, for which I am sure he is truly grateful. Of course, others may rate his skilled negotiation of Brexit as equally significant in that regard.

Bring back Dr. Leo. Dr. Leo was great so he was...

I was mugged by An Taoiseach - as were many of my colleagues/competitors - when he cut my puppy dole. I've always been a Labour supporter but I have to give serious consideration to putting SPBP ahead of Labour on my ballot paper at the next general election. I'll engage with the relevant candidates ahead of making a final decision but SPBP will be my first or second preference.

AFTER WILLY O DEA THREATENED TO VOTE AGAINST THE GREENS ...

Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan has confirmed that the  Coonagh Knockalisheen road project in Limerick, which will open up the Moyross estate and provide connectivity to the rest of the northside of the city, will go ahead in its entirety, as well as a series of other initiatives to improve transport access to the estate.

The road has been the subject of controversy in recent weeks after Mr Ryan had failed to sign off on the final local part of the project, and told community groups in January he wanted to change the plan to include a light rail project.

The Minister has confirmed this morning on local radio that following further consultation with local TDs, party leaders, and with Limerick Council executives the road will now proceed without delay, as well as improving bus access and pedestrian walkways and cycleways to the Moyross estate

He also wants to provide better connectivity from the estate to all three third level colleges including Mary Immaculate college, UL and LIT.

He said all of the initiatives will now proceed as part of the road project to be built in tandem with the construction work to complete the road, which is the last section of a major €58 million project.

Limerick City TD Willie O'Dea has welcomed the decision saying on Twitter that it shows the "great community spirit" in Moyross.

I am delighted that Min Ryan has given the go ahead for the completion of the Coonagh to Knockalisheen road in its entirety. The campaign to get the road built showed what great community spirit exists in Moyross. I want to congratulate everybody who played their part 1/3

— Willie O'Dea (@willieodeaLIVE) February 10, 2021
Chair of the Oireachtas Transport Committee Kieran O'Donnell, who is a TD for Limerick City, said he was "glad that common sense has prevailed here and it means we can get JCBs on site as quickly as possible now that the awarding of the road construction contract is signed off by Minister Ryan"..

"It is a hugely positive day for the people of Limerick City overall," Mr O’Donnell concluded.

Meanwhile, Paddy Flannery, Director of the Moyross Community Centre, said the announcement is excellent news for the community.

He said they are delighted that the Minister has changed his mind on the project, and that they received cross party and cross community support for their campaign to secure its construction.

Mr Flannery said the road project had been left on the Ministers desk without being signed off on since last October, and has only now been  confirmed once their campaign about the importance of the project gathered momentum.

He said they now look forward to working with all the parties involved to complete the project and build a strong community in Moyross for the future.

Local school principal Tiernan O'Neill, who had also campaigned to get the project completed, said this road was not just a physical pathway but a gateway to education employment and opportunity.
