semitron mirror meter problem

i can't pause/stop/end fare while car is moving.

meter beeped and went dead once or twice last week and was totally dead yesterday. i fiddled with the wiring and noticed that when i press down hard on the yellow 5 amp blade fuse i replicated the problem. new fuse problem solved. the damage to the top was from trying to pull it out with a little pliers.

Has anyone ever figured out how to deactivate the printer on one of these meters wothout it showing the error message.I hate wasting all that paper for nothing.

In case anyone is wondering I solved this printer issue by putting tape over the little light sensor inside the printer.Now of someone asks me for a paper receipt I can reninstall the paper roll and print it out like normal.Pain in the hole having to go look for paper when it's busy.

Can you do it with a Hale Microtax-05?

I dunno SB if all the printers work the same way.Whatever mechanism it's using to detect the paper on yours  it should be possible to work around it.

I'm surprised the NTA still mandate this printing now that most of us have gone digital with the apps.

Like RC, I'm on the old analog printer. It sounds like a dwarf punching an old typewriter in the glovebox.

I've a semitron meter but the printer that came with mine has a little door that the roll goes into. If it's loosely open it doesn't print, it makes the noise as if it thinks there's paper there but doesn't need paper in it. The meter doesn't seem to notice what's going on so I just close the door if I need a receipt and pop it back open when they get out. A roll does me about a year.

Savin on receipt rolls ....I mean how much are they a year ? ...anyway yur supposed to be keeping receipts ( I know )  as  i tink ratti pointed out a while ago .......I use them for wrapping me chewing gum an scrapin bird shit off me windos
