I know I keep saying this but the Cough is masking the damage Brexit is going to do at least we will have some sort of job .I see tonight the Cabinet decided to go begging for 850 million from the EU to help with post Covid rebuilding .You will get a lot of FAS courses for that sort of money .We are heading back to the 70s /80s .Outside of Dublin this is probably still a decent job but Dublin with Rent a Bike ,Scooters ,24 hour busses, Bus lanes dead ends it will be minimum wage at best .

Who knows what post covid will be like,anyone with a few years left with their current vehicle and maybe no repayments will ride out the storm although the PUP will dry up soon enough but will the work return to a sustainable level?

It will be BOOM or BUST cant see it being steady everybody will spend after they get parole or be to afraid to spend until they know if they have a job .Its just guesswork .Be interesting to see what a Sf Taoiseach and Finance Minister will do .Tax and spend might increase the amount of jobs but tax from wages wont leave a lot for Porter ,Smokes and Coke .

I can't see too many younger people coming into the game other than to legitimatise criminal activity,the likes of FN will be the future supplying electric cars for cosy for people to make a few bob for the holliers,even i don't want to drive a joe for a living anymore but i can see a time when i'll be glad of the licence to get me out of the house for a few hours.

Hal this Covid Crap has been very one sided if your a public servant your on full coin a lot of jobs are still on full coin .Ive burned through my savings can see the aftermath of this thing impacting more on low paid workers or self employed .When I say we will go back to the 70s that will probably include more people drinking local especially if pubs open later 100 notes to see Rod Stewart or 80 notes to see a Poor Rep of Ireland Soccer team will be a thing of the past .The big Croaker or Aviva Gigs wont be as plentyfull for a while but local work off your phone might be Ok cut out Me Taxi as long as you are reliable .

Immigrants, in the main.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Only 14 issued in February:

http://intaxi.org/database/miniwat.php

WATs = 2931
WAHs = 143

Would have been  the 15th (55160)  only I cancelled my application due to the WAV21 Grant commencing 1st March.

Me!

Seems like four or five of the other new plates are thinking the same way as they have put the same vehicles on the road. Ford Transit/Tourneos. All MPV's.
Wonder if any of them will surrender their plates and reapply to get the grant?

I don't think you have to surrender plates to get the grant. Didn't they say any individual/entity can apply for as many grants as they want?

Almost certain you do. I had the conditional offer and had the suitability booked for last Friday afternoon in Greenhills. I received the industry update which mentioned the new WAV21 Grant scheme opened yesterday (01/03/21). I called the NTA and asked could I still apply. They said no, the grant offer had to be issued before applying for a conditional offer. So I cancelled my (55160) conditional offer and sent off the WAV grant form yesterday morning.

As for how many the information document doesn't say or I missed it. What is different is that for non E-grant vehicles (diesel or petrol) only existing SPSV Driver Licence holders and Existing SPSV Vehicle Licence holders can apply. Where as there is no restriction on the E-Grants.
