The last three on that list are now on wheelies with the same numbers but a
W instead of the T...Still doesn't add up though.

So the letter changes but not the number when one puts a WAV on a saloon plate.

That learned, I'm gonna have to re-educate our bots when I get a chance, they're programmed to use the prefix when updating plates - not quite sure why I writ 'em that way, it was a long time ago!

Figured out why the bots use the prefix. It's because there are actually a few old badge numbers that are 5 digits with no prefix hence searching for some plates without the T, H, L, A, W prfix on the NTA Driver Check app returns the badge result so wouldn't update the plate on our system.

Fortunately our monthly scan doesn't include the prefix but instead has a workaround whereby it retries if the plate number in the returned data doesn't contain it's search string. However, as changes to plate types weren't envisaged when it was written it couldn't adequately cope with such scenarios. While it updated the expiry date and the reg number it didn't update the status or type.

I've modified the monthly scan to cope with such changes going forward so they ought to be correctly updated on that basis i.e. such changes will be recorded before the end of the month following the month within which the change was made. Those who have our android app can effect such changes instantly by searching the relevant plate number without prefix, so if you come across any that have yet to be updated please post here. Thanks.

Further to earlier discussion in this thread, quite a few ex-Ebbs Octavias have turned up on different taxis, including:

16191   TAXI   ACTIVE   31/05/19   12D22968      DERMOT EGAN (1)
28936   TAXI   ACTIVE   15/05/19   12D25191      JOHN F REILLY (1)
30056   TAXI   ACTIVE   13/03/19   12D25494      JAMES FARRELL (5)
32337   TAXI   ACTIVE   09/05/19   12D25194      CATHERINE MALONE (1)
35198   TAXI   ACTIVE   14/03/19   12D25485      PATRICK MORAN (2)
40045   TAXI   ACTIVE   17/05/19   12D25486      KOFFI GANKE KOWOUVI (0)
41386   TAXI   ACTIVE   19/02/19   12D25442      BRENDAN SPEARING (0)
41608   TAXI   ACTIVE   09/05/19   12D22979      CHARLES OKEZIE (1)
45246   TAXI   ACTIVE   24/11/18   12D25726      PATRICK GORMLEY (1

The Brendan Spearing one is mildly interesting if you find this kind of thing mildly interesting. With his fleet you'd imagine he'd be buying lots rather than one. Kinda suggests he may be going down the plate only rental route like the Ebbseses.

The renter's insurance policy might be the main attraction for new drivers.

For some reason they did for anything 2010 or older and reverted back to the original way for 2011 and newer. Flipping idiots changing the goalposts and doing shit like that

I think they introduced the 120 plate when SIMI were selling up to 100K cars a year, not any more.
Over 90,000 cars imported privately and rightly so.
F**k SIMI.

No. As stated they are Octavias. The ones the Ebbseses bought new in, well, 2012 when they transferred the fleet to corporate ownership. The reg numbers are close because they bought and registered them all around the same time.
