Well it's kinda the same reason I dropped out of electronic engineering the first time.Too much work not enough money at the start.Never thought of the age thing TBH.Maybe the tech companies will be forced to employ a certain ammount  of fat middle aged lads kinda like the way possitive discrimination idea works for the blacks in South Africa..

You seem hell-bent on clearing a debt you inflicted on yourself within a timeframe...........why? Maybe but a psychology degree builds on your experience of life... let's your CV explain how life led you to believe you can contribute more to society, etc, etc...

First principles .Get an education so you can be educated like the rest of the people signing on .Thats the way we are programmed

 Proper principle :Look on life like a bulls eye aim for the target focus on hitting the target if you hit the bull well done but just focus on the target .First identify the target most kids think the target is to get a few quid in their pocket and a feel so they jump on the job band wagon any job or the one your old man managed to get for you ,your now on the fast train to nowhere .When I was in my 20s the target was a roof over your head and pennies in your pocket all that was available from the Dole just bang out a few sprogs Corpo gave you a gaff and the Dole gave you cash .The Dole was great if it was cold you got a fuel allowance if you were sick you got a medical card all you needed to be able to do was breath they even gave the family a few quid when you died .Now 30 years later if you have a mortgage ,medical insurance and double glazing people say he is done well for himself .The First rule of survival is learn the rules never break them they are very flexible and remember the two golden rules .Its not illegal to be stupit and if you want to say something say nothing ,,,,There are so many of us on earth that like Masters degrees we are basically worthless nobody gives a fuck but to convince us that we are somehow valued they grade us and give us some money to reflect our value then for those stupit enough they decide that some crap is worth more than other crap and they go to auction to try to own that crap .If they invent driverless cars and im out of work Ill do what I did when I gave up doing what I use to do before I did this Ill just do something else .

With 10,000 state of the art driverless taxis , Daimler failed to keep Dublin party goers happy. Pax in the city centre had to wait until the bots serviced outlying nearest taxi to job calls and were lucky if any of the jobs dropped in the city. Minister of Robotic Transport has hinted that Daimler should double their fleet to 20,000 or they run the risk of losing the Dublin Taxi Contract. The IWA are still trying to ensure the Minister makes them all WAV and rumour has it the London Electric Vehicle Company, owned by London Cab makers, China`s  Geely Automobile is ready to supply 20,000 by mid March. In other news, a first year student in Brunner asked where do 60 km of taxis park in Dublin City centre.

Driverless cars will be part of the public transport infrastructure in due course if technology progresses as the motor manufacturers predict. In fact, public and private transport will merge to some extent even without talking driverless cars into consideration. It seems that Go Car type services will replace private car ownership to some extent.

Aids and Herpes are real. Driverless cars are a figment of Philip K Dick's cerebellum. The thing about humans is only 7/10 of their brains' are active at any time......what the rest of the picture would look like will never be revealed to us. Personally, I think Noah's going to come back and save a few of us. Who knows, maybe Daimler is German for Damian.......ominous? Correction...70% inactive. Science still can't explain that away......Science is supposed to be our saviour....

Quantity Surveying is the future Rats. What other graduate can start on 60k a yr? Loadsa building happening according to Eoghan with the Blackrock/Princeton accent.

Boring job though. MfH strikes me as more of a life-balance man than career/money driven. Modern office culture is quite demanding with young professionals competing to be first in and last out, the days of 9-5 seem to be confined to the Civil Service.

Hey, MfH, ever thought about sitting some civil service exams? I reckon you'd be a Secretary General within a decade!

Sounds alright but they'd probably want me to turn up everyday and start at certain times that might not  suit me..I've gotten used to taking day/week off because I don't like driving on the rain/dark anymore or found something interesting on the YouTube..

You'd survive on the money, it's a lot better than it used to be. Turning up depends on the job, there's still a few handy numbers that don't place too much of a burden on your time.
