Could not believe it. I rang allianz for an insurance quote.she asked was 5 years accident free. I said I was, other then AN NOT FAULT hit ,and run in 2015,but the claim was now closed and payment made to me by the MIBI.I just could not believe it.even though it was an non fault, the would not quote me saying that it was still a claim regardless.so it doesnt matter how careful you are,if some towrag hits you,you are penelised because you cant get a quote

Dollymount Once you inform them of an incident they open a file as in a CLAIMS file even though there is no claim they then say to themselves that there is a claim outstanding and they have employed staff to deal with it and it has a claim number .What most people dont understand is a claim is a claim regardless of the outcome of that claim .my Daughter has a claim against her in the works .Her insurance company are taking the other party to court for fraud but according to her  insurer they will claim her policy for costs to deend her policy against this frauduylent claim so there is a claima gainst her .Even if she wins the case her no claims bonus will be rolled back as there was a settled claim made in ASSOCIATION with her policy .

When I had my near death experience back in 12 the other party admitted libliability after a while and a battle to get back on the road which I won I was never penalised when renewing my insurance.

But my situation was, thay I was hit by a hit and run driver.he was located a short time later.after some time, the MIBI paid out.this is the body that you can claim from if the driver was uninsured.they settled with me,the claim is since closed, but STILL these fuckers refuse to quote me even though it was not my fault its laughable

What your insurer will say is they had to represent you in this case and there were costs .AGAINST YOUR POLICY .ANTO I had a bang and it was settled 100% in my favour but when I went to move company I was informed that there was a claim recorded on my policy .My premium actually went down the year after my claim was settled .

These companies want it every way.it used to be that your premium went up dramaticly upon renewal if you were involved in an accident that was YOUR fault.now it seems you cannot even get a quote if it was NOT your fault .they are fukking gangsters

Yes I did ring insurance ireland, who assured me they were quite within their rights in not giving a quote, they did say though, that it is only allianz that engage in this practice.the fella I was talking to told me I should try a new entrant to the market called Ben Mcardle brokers  anyone ever heard of them ?

I notified my insurance, Allianz, as is always advised,  this time last year of an accident a few days earlier where a person had driven across the continuos white line on a bend  in the the road into my car. They told me that I could get the repair done by Allianz for speed, and that as long as the other accepted liability, and paid Allianz for the repair before my next premium was due it would not affect my quote. However if they were not paid by then it would affect my premium.

I did not use Allianz as the other person's insurance co Liberty accepted full liability 2 days after the accident from the photographs supplied, and paid Ashmore Ryder for the repair.

I got a request from Allianz later in the year to confirm that my claim had been settled by the other party's insurance co, and I had my full no claims cert issued last month for my renewal. My premium had gone up from €2400 to €2900. They did not give any reason for the increase or mention anything on the notice about a previous "not my fault" accident, but now I am wondering was I also penalised for advising them of an accident in which I was 100% the innocent party.

Most premiums went up this year irrespective of accidents.
