Bottom line is if you're gonna go into business/politics and sometimes the two are closely related in this country then expect your personal life to be fukked in your face.

If I set up a new despatch company tomorrow claiming to be a cut above yous scum you'd be quick enough to take me down at the first chance.That's just the way the world works.

Totally agreed MFH there is no hiding from your past regardless if personal or business, but what was thrown at Firefox (by SB) was way over the top and most of it just a figment of his imagination and totally made up. Deboy/JMO did the same to me the cowardly kount before I kicked his ass outta here.

I never publish lies, unlike some. If there were lies I could have been threatened with legal action. I never was.
It's not beyond the sample of a man to resort to the courts.

It's not something I'd be bothered about.The man can clearly speak for himself.Stupid or inappropriate stuff gets said on this forum every day.Vinny has a neck like a jockey's ballbag.There was a time when he was using this forum as a marketing device for his company and actively recruiting members.If Bill from Freenow came on here with the same sales pitch he'd get the same treatment.

To be fair, he put his money where his mouth was. In fact he gave me and two other drivers a month's free sub to Xpert through Roy's so that we could report from working drivers' perspectives. I recounted my experience on Roy's at the time in an honest and impartial manner.

It reflects quite poorly on the current crop of reps that the media still go to Vinny when they want to know how drivers and the trade in general is coping with any given situation. It's about 15 years since he was a union official but I think he still represents drivers better than any of the so-called reps. As it happens, the views he's expressed as far as Covid 19 is concerned concurs with those expressed on here by many of those who criticise him. He has drawn attention to NTAs duty of care, has argued in favour of drivers getting the "pandemic payment" and has drawn attention to deaths within the trade regardless of the relevance of the trade to those deaths... pretty much the same as those who criticise him on here have done on the forum, just he has a found a wider audience... as it goes, without looking for it. It's the journalists that ring him for informed comment and opinion.

To be honest the man loves the limelight, the media, and thinks he is a spokesperson for the self-employed.He seems to stick his beak in every opportunity he gets.Has this man a pension???.unlike the rest of us .Ill let you guys answer that.He is part of that rules and regulations gang stickers and all the other crap they put on us.No time for people jumping on the bandwagon during a National emergency.Im unemployed like the rest of you here so-so lets not talk about dinosaur reps

Of course there is no pension from the dispatchers, you are self employed, you pay your sub and do the jobs, some require uniforms and some don't, but none of them are compulsory.

If you choose to work street/rank only then also there is no pension (except state when your 66) and the same with FN who don't even bother to send a wreath to your funeral if'n you Pop your Clogs.

The choices are there fer each individual and thankfully we can make them as we please.

Granted, it had been beaten to death, but the long and short is that we self employed Taxi drivers can choose as we please wheter we work Rank, Street, Dispatch or App with no one telling us what to do.

Big Army pensions I know as I was told  .Some dispatchers started off in Army then went into Taxi industry.Thats why they love stickers all over our cars and recommended them to Taxi Regulator,NTA only a smokescreen .Rules and regulations are loved by certain Dispatchers.Well Freenow is the boss now, and at a stroke of a pen they can wipe them out ,and it has started already .Watch all the new Breadvans next year from the Germans.They will flood the industry.Freenow will keep those Dispatchers in there rocking chairs 100%.Im independent driver not with either of them.I love full fares

I was on the Dog to Vinny this morning and to be fair he was not complaining, even though I know how ever much we are suffering financially, he with God only knows how many rentals parked up is suffering a lot more, he told me that he has told a lot of his elder drivers to park up and his offer to them was; "Park up, pay No base sub or rental, your insurance will be frozen and come back when ever you want" and that offer is open to all of his drivers, if'n they wish to continue to work then their usual base sub of 100 is now reduced to 25.

Fook it, ya can't be any fairer than that !

Fer the begrudgers on here, I'm a Cork Taxi driver and Vinny is a Dooblin dispatcher so we don't or never had any interaction in business, we just chat as friends and I asked Vinny before our call ended was it OK to post on the forum of what he said, and he gave me the OK.
