I do buy 2 at a time once a year. 2 front ones. The backs last about 3  years. Why would one take half worn tyres and stick them on the back? As I said, next time round you've to get 4 tyres.
I bought 4 new tyres last January + tracking cost 380, used to be a Deuce 10 years ago !
Last week the front were more worn than the back but all still good fer use, (passed NCT), so at my service last week I rotated back to front and front to back + tracking so in another few months all tyres will be equally worn and replace them all at the same time, saving off-road time in the garage replacing them one or two at a go.

It's once a year Ken either just two or every 3 years or so I get 4. By rotating your tires twice you're off the road longer than me. Just leave the bleedin things alone till they need changing ffs.

Who mentioned rotating the tyres Twice ?

I rotate when it's in fer service or whatever, never actually going out of my way to do it.
I don't scrimp on car maintenance , my cab is always kept in a very decent fashion both mechanically and cleanliness wise, as pointed out by my Total full 5 star car rating on FN.

I'm just saying Ken it's a complete waste of time rotating them. Leave them be. When they need changing change them. How bleedin hard is that?

Tyres more likely to be damaged by potholes than wearing out .Keep them inflated to the right pressure helps with wear and tear .

I find Hankook or barum tyres decent enough. Budget tyres go to the rear wheels
