Hard to imagine they'll ignore the trade (both drivers and bosses) telling them that we're incompatible with "the new normal". Surely the focus, going forward, must be to remove any and all reliance on the trade as an essential service. Alternatives such as car pooling, electric scooters, (electric) rickshaws and (electric) bicycles must be worthy of promotion in that regard. Similarly, it might make sense to encourage/develop a P2P solution for hospital patient transfers, maybe even on a voluntary basis like the blood bikes. Who knows, Uber / Free Now / Lyft / et al might offer it as a loss leader to get P2P rideshare generally licensed?
